Our Founder, President, and Principal Broker, William G. Godwin, has been selling real estate for more than 10 years with nearly $20 million in sales. Obtaining his license while a 3rd Year law Student, he learned the business at one of Hyde Park’s boutique real estate brokerages, Metro Pro Realty.

An entrepreneur at heart, in 2015, William took steps to develop his own company, by becoming a Managing Broker and opening a start-up venture in Gary’s Miller Beach neighborhood where he’s owned a home for more than a decade. He’s a member of the Chicago Association of Realtors, Greater Northwest Indiana Association of Realtors and the Southwestern Michigan Association of Realtors. He’s also an Attorney Member of the Illinois Bar.

William is a native of Jackson, Tennessee. A graduate of The University of Chicago Law School and Georgetown University; he earned a Master of Arts at The Chicago Theological Seminary and completed the General Course at The London School of Economics and Political Science. William has served as Associate Vice-Chancellor, Department of Workforce & Economic Development at The City Colleges of Chicago and as an Associate at the law firm of McDermott, Will & Emery LLP. He’s provided external relations services to a variety of education-focused non-profits, including Communities In Schools of Chicago.

An avid reader, writer, and traveler, William loves the intellectual life, politics, behavioral economics and intercultural studies, and community engagement initiatives. He’s the author of Blue America’s God: Reflections on Faith and the Future of Progressive Politics.

An Associate Broker with Godwin Realty Company since 2018, Cherryl has lived in Gary’s Miller Beach neighborhood for almost 20 years.

Before joining Godwin Realty, Cherryl sold real estate through Coldwell Banker in Valparasio and Schererville Indiana, selling multi-millions in real estate. She is thrilled to be working in her hometown with her neighbors and her community.

She loves Gary; some of her favorite things to do in Gary include attending Gary South Shore Railcats games , exercising on the walking/bike trail in the Indiana Dunes National Park. Absolutely indulges in walking on the local beaches from Miller to West Beach in Porter County.

Cherryl has been a volunteer with the YWCA, helping and advising children of the signs of sexual abuse. She’s also been the girl’s tee-ball coach. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University Northwest.

Cherryl says, “It’s an honor to represent a homeowner selling their home and also putting a 1st time homeowner in a place that fulfills their dreams. I don’t just sell houses, I’m passionate about putting families in homes.”
